Grabbing Time

Well, my plans for my week off went straight out the window before it even started. On Friday a family member had a heart attack. Thankfully said family member is home now and beginning their path to recovery. I’m not going to go into detail as it’s not my place to tell the world about this persons health.

Obviously the immediate family rallied around and we did what we could, that meant that I didn’t dive in head first with writing like I was planning to. I have done some work though,  mainly on a secondary project but yesterday I did get a chapter edited on the main WIP. I’ve gotten some work done on outlining and world building as well. Basically lots of little pieces of different projects; especially the outlining and world building stuff because that is work that I can literally add a sentence to, or a little detail to, quickly without having to dive into the work with more thought of moving a plot alone or getting a character fleshed out.

That is something that I am trying to do, learning how to do a little work if I’ve only got a few minutes spare to take advantage of. Even if it is just a small piece added to an outline or a piece of dialogue; it’s all going to help.

Life is settling down somewhat now, but it’s going to be a little up in the air for a while so I’m not going to have as much done this week as I was planning to but I’m learning ways to get work done while not having a lot of time to really get anything done.

Right, I’m off now to get dressed and sorted out for the day. I’ve got lunch with one of my best friends later and after that I’ll be visiting my grandad, so today is going to be a prime example of not having much time and making the most of it.
