Something that I struggle with is keeping my attention on only one thing. I notice this mainly when I am writing, I’ll drift off to have a look around Facebook or check my emails. Even now I’m having a break from NaNoWriMo to watch Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D, and writing this blog post. For the best part of the time this really annoys me. It dosent seem to bother me so much when I’m at work but at work I’m there to work, maybe that is a mindset I need to get into when writing. Last Sunday I said to Tracie that I wanted to get 2000 words written that night, and having her know that (and text me to remind me that) I then knocked out 2100 words quite easily.
So maybe I just need to have the knowledge that I need to get these words written, I need to drum it into my head that this writing thing is not just an idle hobby, it’s something I really want to succeed with.

With that in mind, I’m aiming to knock out another 700-1000 words once Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D is done 🙂

NaNo Update

I am now at about 9700 words, I should have broken the 10,000 word mark last night but I got a new tv and once I had hooked it up I just had to try GTAV in HD (how awesome is this game in HD by the way!) and BOOM! The evening was lost. So today I have even more catching up to do. Aside from Agents Of S.H.I.E.L.D I have nothing to distract me tonight and hopefully I’ll get a little closer to being on target.
As for the story I think it’s going okay. My outline is pretty much out of the window now but I’m loosely following it still, after I got it back on track.
