Good Morning 22nd September 2020

Yesterday I wrote 907 words on Penal Earth before work. When I got home I popped onto Facebook, as you do, and saw the announcement of the Corona-Nation St anthology from Burdizzo Books, which features my story, The Wank Diaries, amongst the many fine writers works included. I am super stoked for this. Much of this story was written at a time when I was going through my own personal hell and I think some of that gets reflected in the story. Brian Keene refers to it as Bleeding onto the page. That is something I’ve done in the past and something I think will happen more, simply because that’s what we do. When we create we tap into what we’ve experienced in life. Whether it’s light and fluffy or dark and hard. We put it on the page.

I absolutely love this cover!

Back to Corona-Nation St though, its a charity anthology that’ll be tasing funds for a NHS related charity. It has a hell of a table of contents as well: Matthew Cash
Alys Daddi
Dani Brown
Lisa Presley
Ian Woodhead
James Jobling
Dale Parnell
Ian Davies
Norbert Gora
Penny Jones
M. B. Feeney
Matt Humphries
Richard Archer
Tom Johnstone
Paul Hiscock
Richmond A. Clements
Patrick Flaherty
Patrick R. McDonagh
Peter Germany
Ryan Simons
Al Barz
Jacob Prytherch
David Court
Mark Cassell

Like seriously, there is a hell of a lot of talent here. I really cannot wait to get my hand on a copy of it 🙂

Back to writing though, I’ve got a fair amount of time today that I’m going to aim for about a thousand words and then I’ve got a few bits and pieces to do around the house and then I’m going to crack on with some more of this filing.

Have a good day, folks!

11th September 2020

Evening folks, I am wiped out. I should be in bed drifting off to the land of nod, but I need to write a bog post for all you lovely people that take the time to read my little corner of the internet.

It’s something I really do appreciate. I’d still be writing these posts if nobody read them, it’s something I enjoy a lot and find therapeutic a lot of the time. So thank you all for taking the time to visit this space.

Right, today. I wrote 1189 on the vampire book. This came really easy and I’m feeling very good about it. Although I am trying to get away from rewriting every single thing I write repeatedly, this one seems to be working in its favour. So I’ll continue on this path and see how it comes out.

I’m going to have limited time to write over the next few days, but it won’t be any different to today, so there’s no reason why I can’t be pushing a 1000 words a day tomorrow and Sunday.

Max (and his duck) have been joining me this week as I work 😊

It will be mainly writing and little to no editing. I think I find it easier to edit when I can do it in one go. This works okay for short stories, not so sure how it’ll be for longer pieces when I get around to them, but I’ll cross that bridge when I come to it.

Right, I’m going to call it a night.

Have a good one, folks!

Slow Day, But Words Written

Today was not the best for writing. I managed two hundred words on a story that’s set in the universe Owen and I have created. This story is fun, but rather challenging as it’s a more dialogue piece than an action sort of piece that I tend to steer towards.

I did have a brief conversation with Owen today, and I think we’re getting pretty close with the next major project from this universe. We’re meeting Sunday, so hopefully we’ll get the outline locked down.

That’s all for now. I’m going to try and update my progress each day, I’m hoping this helps me get back into a decent writing routine again.
