A dear friend of mine, Cinta Garcia de la Rosa, brought me this Tie-In novel back in the summer when we met in Oxford. Here’s her website; http://cintascorner.weebly.com/index.html and it was the Battlestar Galactica tie-in novel. I’ve read a couple of the Halo novel tie-ins which I’ve generally been impressed with but obviously this is a different kettle of fish as it’s based on a television two-part pilot. So I was not sure how I would find it, but I was more than happy with it. The snappy way that it is written, obviously having been based on a TV show it moved quite quickly. At first I was a little disappointed that we did not get to see more of what was going on inside of the characters heads but as the novel moved along we got to see more and more of those inner thoughts.
Being a fan of Battlestar Galactica I know the story, I know the characters. So the writer who was charged with putting this together had to do a lot of work to impress me, he did and to the point where I’ve added him to my ‘Check This Dude Out’ list.
I’m not going to go into the plot or the character as Battlestar Galactica has been a huge success and I would imagine most of the people who may come across this blog may have some knowledge of it and if you don’t have an idea what I’m talking about this book is about the attack by a race of machines that mankind had created and the survivors coming together to decide where they go from there.
The novel was based on the teleplay by Ronald D. Moore and Christopher Eric James, based on the teleplay by Glen A.Larson.
