This is a post that I have been meaning to write for a long time but it was only after reading a posts by Kristen Lamb (I reblogged it earlier in the evening) that has reminded me to gets this one done. Twitter is an amazing place to go and play. I have met some amazing people on there and there are so many people that I can learn a great deal from but. When I joined Twitter I had no idea how to really use it so I found myself following so many people I lost track and all these good people that I should be striking up conversations with pass me by because I’ve been swept away by the tide of crap that makes up my Twitter feed. So I’ve started to unfollow a lot of people whom I have never swapped a tweet with or who literally just throw up link after link after link. I have people on my Twitter that post lots of links but that is not all they post. These fine people put up random Tweets about their day or their views on a movie or what’s happening in politics or something. That opens the door to striking up conversations and building connections and even friendships. I don’t tweet half as often as I should but once I’ve cleared away much of the rubbish I will find the more people I want to be talking too and be able to use twitter how I want rouse it. So if I unfollow you in the next few weeks don’t take it personally 🙂
