I wanted to post a quick little update because once I finish work I’ll be in R&R mode and nothing creative will seep from my mind, well that’s what normally happens lol. I’m close to wrapping up my second read through of Project Delphi and I’m finding that the more that I do the more ideas that are coming to mind for this story. Each one is being scribbled down as I go.
Something that I have learnt is that I am a paper editor. I can’t edit notes that have been taken from a computer screen so when I get back to editing the two stories that are kind of on hold at the moment I will print them off and edit from there. I’ve been making red pen notes on hard copies for years but this is the first time that I have actually gone back and made more notes. Things like when to introduce a character or what another character is thinking as they are doing something else that is also key to the story. A couple of character relationships have had a slight tweak tonight which I had not even thought of but it is now rather obvious. I’ve altered how I think the pacing should be tonight too. We need to build the universe and the characters a little before it all goes hideously wrong for the characters.
I am still aiming to have this done and start writing by Tuesday next week at the latest, and the ill be aiming for a 1000 words a day. Which will give me some breathing (slacking off) space before my self imposed deadline of the end of September to have this draft done 🙂
I always have to edit and make notes on hard copy.

I recently tried to edit on Microsoft word’s comments feature but it just didn’t work for me.

I cannot edit on the computer. I need to have the paper in front of me so I can scribble, cross, change, and make notes all over it 😀

That’s exactly what I have to do. Then when I’m doom the changes it’s easier for me to paper so I don’t have to keep switching documents on the laptop etc
