I’m gonna try and keep a blog of my NaNo experience seeing as its my first year having a go at it and I’ve started off well.  I’ve knocked out just over 5000 words and at this rate I’ll be done by about the 20th of November.  I dont know why so many people dread doing NaNo its going to be well easy,  YEAH RIGHT!!!!!! There is no way that it is going to be this easy.  Not a change on earth! I’ve done well so far because its new and exciting and I’ve no doubt got a lot of adrenaline running through my veins.  I am feeling pretty confident about hitting the 50k target by december 1st, more then I was before I started but I am still being realistic about this.  I’ve never written that many words in a year let alone a month.  I’m on about 45k for the year before NaNo started but its still a rather daunting concept.  50,000 words in a month! Its almost insane when you throw in a day job as well as a social life, and possibly some sleep too.

One of the things its made me realise is that I need a new laptop bag.  I’m squezing my 20 inch odd width laptop into a bag only just big enough and that is bugging me.

What I’m hoping to get out of NaNo is just the habit of writing, which is the idea.  Its inspired me to write about an idea that I have had floating in and out of my head for quite a while and its not turning out like I had planned (My characters often have a habit of doing what they want) which is why I dont often try too hard to plan out what I am writing.  Back to NaNo though, I’ve been impressed with the community so far and I’ve not really got into the whole world yet.  Hopefully I’ll get a chance in the next couple of days to explore the forums and so forth a little more, but for now I’m gonna finish watching Resident Evil : Apocalypse and then go to bed.
