Howdy folks! How are we doing today?

Today’s been productive. I’ve written a little over 800 words on PE2 over about two hours and built a lot of both character and universe details in those 800 words. I managed to write before work, during my break and when I got home today. I’ve not done that for some time, making the most of those slots of time. I’d love to repeat it tomorrow, that depends if I get up earlier enough to make the most of that little bit of extra time before work.

Considering I’ve had a couple of bad nights sleep I’m a little surprised I’ve been as clear thinking as I have been when writing. I’ve created a lot of detail that I’ve not even thought about before. Some of it I can see where I got the influence from, whilst over bits I’ve no idea at all where they’ve come from. Whether it was real life of content I’ve explored. Only a little of what I wrote today will progress the plot but a lot of what I did write gives depth to characters and the environment they’re in. It felt very organic and I’ve not had words flow that easily for some time.

I’ve passed my hours worked goal for this month already. The twenty hours I set myself, it’s not hard to hit over the course of a month. I really want to build my consistency and get to the point where I’m doing thirty hours a month, then forty and go from there. I will have to find my sweet spot. I work full time as well as family and friends, but I’ve got the hours there, so improving my consistency is a massive target for me in the coming few months.
