Preparing For Marvel’s Infinity War

Although it’s a few months away I’ve began my watch through of the Marvel Cinematic Universe movies for when Infinity War is released. My plan is to have watched all of the movies that are available on BluRay by the time Black Panther is released.

I love these movies, the way each one works on its own but is also part of that bigger picture. It’s quite exciting to be on the brink on what has been building for the last decade.

A Not So Easy Sunday

This Sunday I’m planning on watching the last two films in my Marvel Movie Marathon (Iron Man 3 and Thor: The Dark World). And I’m planning to work on Chapter 3 of Project Apollo. As well as do a little more reading of the book I’ve received and ARC for. I still need to tidy up as I’ve got a shed load of paper work to go through. This is mainly all the little snippets of stories that I’ve written as well as notes that I’ve scribbled down on paper. That in mind I need to write up all the notes that I’ve written down over the last few weeks especially. This week alone Chrystalyn and I have spent almost six hours in two sittings brainstorming, that reminds me I need to do some reading on a research topic for The Residents, so obviously I have a fair few notes to write up.

Am I going to get all of this done? Absolutely not, I’m going to give it a bloody good go though 🙂

Gearing Up For A Busy Weekend

This coming weekend I would like to; get chapter 2 of Project Apollo wrapped up. Look through, organise and write up all the notes I have for The Residents. I also need to tidy up (this is high on the to-do list as a lot of nots are jumbled up in stakes of paper). I’d also like to finish my Marvel Movie Marathon, just Iron Man 3 and Thor: The Dark World to go.
I am also reading an Advanced Review Copy (ARC) of a novel that will be out shortly that has been written by someone I know and I want to get that read and a review written for it done quickly. And I’m off to a pub with Owen for a couple of drinks Saturday night.

Now, I know me and I’m sure that I won’t get that all done, but I do have the whole weekend from when I finish work at lunch time of Saturday so I’m going to do my best to tick off as much as I can.

I am feeling very focused at the moment and I’m very energised after the best part of a three hour Skype call with Chrystalyn last night where we made a lot of progress with The Residents and I’m sure Owen and I will make similar progress Saturday. While I’m feeling this energised I’m going to try and take advantage of it.

A Bit Of A Mission Statement

Yesterday I wrote a bit about what I am aiming to achieve this week. Although I am not going to set myself any writing targets, because I never hit them, I am setting myself a few goals outside of writing. As I said I need to spend some time in our chicken run carrying out some maintenance bits and pieces. I also want to clean all the rubbish out of my car (it’s a disgrace at the moment) so that’s another hour of an evening. I’m also going to see Iron Man 3 tomorrow. Which now occurs to me that I won’t get much writing done this week but I’m still going to do at least a little bit a day.
At the moment I’m going through what We have already written and this part is pretty tidy so I haven’t added too many words yet but I’ve worked through about twenty five pages. I have got a lot hand written and ready to be put into the story.

I have a short story edit notes to look through from one of my fabulous Beta readers. What I’m thinking about doing with this is go through the notes, sit on it for a week and then look at them again and go through and make the changes I agree with. This shot is in my vampire series and is the first in the timeline. I’d like to get all of these polished and put into a collection. I was thinking about adjusting them so they are one story but I think it’ll ruin the stories so I’ll keep them as tied in short stories. I guess they’ll end up like a tv series type format, one overall plot line with individual stories in each stories. I haven’t shown any of these to my other main Beta reader yet because I am going to make some major changes to the stories, in particular elements in the first of the stories.

Short story wise I have eight or nine that need to be looked at and tidied up. I finished one at the start of last week. I’m pretty happy with it but will give it a quick once over to make sure I haven’t missed anything. I’m going to work on a short story in between longer works, which will not be the quickest way of getting them tidied up but I’m trying to work on balancing out the work. I may work on one while I’m working on a novel like I’m going to try with this short story, but only if it does not slow down my work on the novel.

How do you structure your writing timetable?
