The Hobbit Movies

Last night and this morning I’ve sat down and watched the three Lord Of The Rings movies. I am not someone who read the books, nor have I read The Hobbit or any of J.R.R. Tolkien’s work but I do love these movies by Peter Jackson. I have not seen any of his Hobbit films though. I think this is in part because fantasy is not a genre that I am drawn to, although the fantasy draw is slowly growing as I’m growing and exploring my fiction tastes. Since The Desolation of Smaug came out though I’ve been tempted to see it and the first of this trilogy that Jackson has made but I’ve decided to hold off until all three are out on Blu-Ray and get a collection of them and watch them at home. This is how I experienced the Lord of the Rings trilogy so it feels natural to experience this new trilogy the same way.

Just another year or so to wait….

  1. I think that’s a great idea! It’s really frustrating to watch part 1 of something, and then realize as you walk out of the theatre that you’re going to have to wait at least a year to see the next part … and then another year to watch the third! If I had anything resembling patience, I’d probably watch them all at once too πŸ™‚
