NaNoWriMo: Day 17

I wrote 1727 words today, for a total of 50203. That obviously passes the magical 50k words! 😀 Yes I did punch the air, a few times since passing that 50k. I do believe that you don’t have to write 50,000 words in a month to Win NaNoWriMo, as you get a start then you have something you can build from.
That’s what I’ve gotten from each of the four times I’ve done it. This is my fourth attempt and it does feel great to have done it and I hope the momentum I’ve gained stays with me as I’ve got at least two novels to try and write by the middle of next year. I am going to slow my pace up a little though now I’ve done it. I’ve still got about, I think, another few thousand words to go to wrap the story up now. The direction its now gone in has opened a nice path to where I think will be a nice ending. This ending also means the story of these two main characters of this one and the first book in the series comes to an end, ending any chance of a third book with them. It feels like a natural end for them is coming.

Once it’s done I’m going to dive straight into re-writing the first book of the series, theres going to be no change in how the story plays out really, it just needs the timeline and pacing sorted and some filling out and then I think it’ll be a lot tidier then it is now.
