A Slow Day On The Fiction Front

I did not hit the target that I had set myself today and it’s a tad annoying because I just couldn’t get going.  I did get some good writing done, but not as much as I had wanted but I’d rather write 1100 hundred good words then 2000 words, with 900 dodgy ones.

This project that we’re working on has a lot of strength to it and it’s expanding nicely now.  I was thinking that we would add about 5000 words to the original 15000, but as I’m writing it I think it’s going to be bigger.  With the progress that we’ve made so far I do think that it could hit about the 30000 word mark.  We’re just finding so much depth to add to not only the universe but the individual characters too.

I’m going to properly crack on with this week and try to get on a roll.   I’ll have this draft done by the end of February 🙂

  1. I have found myself stuck too. I have the words the idea but I am missing the glue. And, I am best at the glue. I am known for the glue… CRAP 😀 Sometimes you have to write some dodgy words to get them on paper so you can sort through them and find the ones that make the biggest impact in the best places… So, this is what I am about to do… Write a bunch of whatever that includes my main points and hope that these words will be the base for an activator to make one strong epoxy.

I have no idea why I am on a glue kick! I swear I have never eaten it 😉

  2. I think I had the glue yesterday as well as the ideas, but it was just one of those days where I was struggling to put words on paper, well computer screen lol.
There’s a writer who called Mur Lafferty who is really big in the Podcast community and one of her favourite sayings is ‘Its okay to suck.’
My plan is to get back into NaNo mode and just write! 🙂
