I’m keeping quite open minded on how I’m going to get my work published. Mainly it will be as an indie writer but I’m still going to look at submitting shorter pieces to the magazines out there. As for getting novels published, that’s not an area I’m going to pursue at the moment, well not with my solo stuff anyway.
I keep thinking I’ll focus on one avenue but I think this is the best route for me for the moment. I won’t put any dates on when I’m going to have my self published stories ready because until I have a story that I am happy with I won’t publish anything myself. It has to get the okay from my Primary Two Beta readers. I trust them and I know they wouldn’t let me put anything out which wasn’t ready.
Hey Peter! I have to agree with you on this. If I want a boss, I’ll go back to a regular job! 🙂 I was talking with a friend and he was saying that the non-fiction market is much easier to get published in as far as magazines etc. If a writer wants that ‘published’ mark on their card, non-fiction can be a great challenge and opportunity.

Hi Jason, I’d heard that about non-fiction too, it’s something I may look at in the future depending on how I do with my fiction.

When it’s ready are both the easiest and hardest words in the writer’s profession. Never letting it go before it’s ready is the only way to feel good about the end result, but it requires working heavily toward that end result. It’s ultimately worth it.

That’s one of my problems, I’m never going to be 100% happy with something I’ve written but I will get to a point where I can’t do anything more with the story and that’s when I know it’s time to let it loose.
