Today I’ve written 942 words. 687 on the vampire book and 255 on a story called Extraction. All of those words were tonight and I’m pretty darn happy with them.
The vampire one is a new story for that book. I’m looking at this book as a a TV series and each short story is an episode. This new episode is a totally new one, that I think may replace a later story in the book but we’ll see how it goes. This is now a full on rewrite, my hopes of a heavy edit died about 20,000 words ago. It’s coming along though.
It’s good to be writing another one of these stories. I finished one Saturday (6th July), I think, and I tend to hit a road block when I finish a story. That’s something I need to figure out a work around for.
Extraction is an idea i had after reading a book by one of my favourite authors and one element sparked an idea that I think I can do something with. I did start writing it a few weeks ago but tried to tie it into a universe I’ve already got but that put too many restrictions on me. Now I’m going for a totally new setting with the story and I hope it’ll work out this time.
Paul over at Nik Nak’s Old Peculiar asked me a week or two ago why I haven’t got a YouTube channel. I think I answered with that I don’t have the time, and that I’m pretty camera shy. Okay, maybe more video shy. It’s been playing on my mind though. I might not go for a YouTube channel as such but maybe start posting videos on my Facebook Page as well as Twitter and Instagram. I’ve got a few ideas but I really need to get over that video shyness and over the fact I hate the sound of my voice.

I’m off to bed now. It has been somewhat of a manic week, but I’m getting back in the swing of it now.
I would think having multiple projects going would help keep the road blocks at bay.
Nobody likes the sound of their own voice. I sound like Minnie Mouse!

I find that it does. I’ve been wanting a second project to work on for a while, but nothing had really come to mind until I saw this angle on Extraction.
