Howdy folks, I’m up and raring to go this morning! I have somewhat of a ‘get shit done’ day coming up. I’ve got both writing and non-writing things I’d like to get knocked out today.

One of my goals for this week was to get either of these two drafts I’ve been working on done. Last night I wrapped up the one on Black Blood. I can get that printed off today and then handed to my first reader for when she’s ready to give it a look over.

I had a second viewing of Alien: Romulus last night. I liked it as much as I did the first time. There’s an element that I’m still not sure is needed in the movie, but it works all the same. I liked the nods to the original Alien and I wouldn’t be too sad to see a direct sequel. Fede Alvarez was probably as perfect a director for this franchise as you could get.

Another film I want to talk about is Terrifier 3. I didn’t enjoy it as much as the first and second movies, but it was still very good. I love the fact that nothing is off bounds when it comes to victims or manner of execution for Art The Clown, and the way David Howard Thornton brings Art to life is on another level. The way he switches from comedic mime to bloodthirsty clown is beautiful. The story overall was good, it’s left more questions than answers though, but with a fourth coming that’s the least you’d expect. The rest of the cast were good, but I felt one in particular was short changed. Also, one death that was offscreen, I’m not necessarily convinced they’re dead but we’ll see.

Right, I’m going to get started with the writing. I need to put chapter titles on Black Blood before I print it off, and then I want to get stuck into Penal Earth 2.
