Howdy folks, how are we all doing today?

Last week washed out in a lot of ways due to a head cold smacking me just enough that I had to back off from what I had planned for my writing week. Although I’m still feeling it a bit, bastard thing is lingering, I am feeling much more myself.

I do feel like I’m starting this week a day late though, and I’ve not really set any precise goals yet, but I think I will be doing so later on today once I’ve got some words wrangled.

The last month did feel good, I spent a lot of time writing/editing/world building and lots more. I still feel like I’m sailing without a sail though. I’m not quite sure why. I know Penal Earth 2 is a priority, and that’s what I’ve generally focussed on. But I have been working on the universe bible for that tale, as well as periphery work on other stories like War Child. I have been working on a new short story as well. I work on multiple projects because there’s times when I’ve got a bit of time to write, but I don’t want to be working on Penal Earth 2 as I need to put my whole attention there. If I’m writing during a break at work then I don’t have as much time, am eating, and half chatting to colleagues. Sometimes I’ll write a specific scene that I know Penal Earth 2 will need but mostly I’ll crack on with something different.

With my work rota’s this week I do have flexibility and can put time into writing, so I’m going to dive in and get some progress made. This draft of Penal Earth 2 isn’t the final one, but it’s the final one with heaving editing. The ones that will follow will be making sure there are no grammar/spelling errors. Continuity edits. Maybe planting a little seed or two for the next book, and looking out for plot holes I might have missed.

Right, I’m gonna wrap this post, and get started on the fiction for the day.
