Another One Bites The Dust

I’ve now red penned all but two of my vampire short stories, and damn I’ve got a lot of work to do to get them where I want them. It is a little daunting but it’s also very exciting. I’m reading through and finding some proper little gems in these and I’m being reminded about some of the characters I’ve created. It’s almost like meeting up with old friends after being apart for too long.

To get this series to the stage I want to be at I’ve got to write at least five, maybe six more stories. Which means I can get stuck into a couple of the story lines that I’ve had in mind from when I first started writing these which I’d kind of forgot about.

Most of these I wrote a good three years ago and longer, and I can see where I’ve improved but that does mean I’ve got to go back and do a lot of tidying up. Even once I’ve made the changes on the digital files I think I’m still going to have to go through and do a major read through and go over every single line I’ve written in this series to make sure I’ve not left too many silly mistakes in them.
The stories and the characters I am very happy with, I think I need to fix the odd detail and story element, some dialogue too. Most of what needs work is the grammar, wording and making sure the sentences make sense.

I’m actually enjoying the process a lot if I’m honest; it’s been a while since I’ve been able to say that about editing.
