I finished what I hope will be the final core draft of PE3 yesterday. I’ve got edits to do before sending it off to beta readers but I’m going to take a break from it for a week and then get started with a digital edit, and then print it out for an old fashioned red-penning!

So in the meantime I’m going to be working on a few short stories and have a play with those until Monday when I get stuck into the digital edit. So today I’ve written 1086 on one of those stories and it’s been a lot of fun. It’s very dialogue heavy but its fun dialogue to write and is flying from my fingers quite effortlessly.

I would like to start the revising of my vampire book, which I was planning to start tonight but I had a couple of non-writing things to sort out and by the time I’d eaten as well it was getting a little to late to read through a segment of the vampire piece. So I decided to crack out a few more words and I’m glad I did. I like what I’ve added tonight and it’s a lot more free flowing and fun than some of my other work lately.

Right, I’m off to read now. I’m going to try and up my game with reading this year. I’ve set a target of fifty books (i read forty-nine last year), so I want to get some momentum going.
