Howdy folks, how are we all doing today?

I’ve had an easy start to the day, and am now at a writing meet in Bluewater shopping centre. This is the first write-in I’ve been to in far too long. Anxiety has destroyed anything like this for me over the last couple of years or so. Going to Horrified over easter reignited the urge to reconnect with the communities I’ve been a part of. If I think back to the years running up to lockdown I was going to cons regularly. I was not only going to write-ins I was a somewhat unofficial NaNoWriMo Municipal Liaison, becoming an official one in 2019 – 2023. I was enjoying the writing groups and we had a really solid first Wednesday of the month NaNo meet up with some awesome folks coming month in month out.

It’s good to be at one now, as I wait for others to arrive, is my anxiety through the roof? Yes, yes it is. But I’m here, and am looking forward to catching up with some of that old Wednesday crowd.

If any writing is done today (we have a habit of chatting away), I’m going to crack on with the Black Blood edit. Where I’m off this week my main focus has been on Penal Earth 2, and getting it ready for first readers.

I think I’ve ended April pretty well. At one point I felt like I was falling behind quite notably, but in hindsight I don’t think it was as bad as I thought. I’ve definitely passed the twenty hour mark, which is sort of my minimum for the month. As of this moment I think it’s gonna be about 25 hours for the month.
