It’s been a strange month. Very weird not having Dizzy in the house now. There’s a way which an animal touches our soul that’s unlike any other connection.

Add in an expensive mechanical matter with my car, and a number of other bits and pieces. So writing has taken a back step as these other bits and pieces has taken my attention. I have been writing, but it’s been more dribs and drabs.

The last few days I’ve been snatching a few words here and there, mainly on the Mars story. I think I’m coming to the stage where I need to start typing some of it up and get some of the time line straightened out. How I’ve been writing it has become a little jumping from one scene to another as they come to me, and it feels like it’s getting a little erratic. I do have a better idea of some of the story elements now. The antagonist is beginning to take shape, and I wrote out a scene the other day where I reveal a part of the protagonists past. It felt like some of the best writing I’ve done in a long time, and I’m not putting myself down with that. It’s just I think I stepped up and nailed a scene that is not only sharing a life defining moment for a character but I think I got the emotion right.
