Howdy folks! How are we doing today?

Writing has slowed down as I’ve got my little one with me for a couple of weeks. Writing is the part in my life where I can ease back without it affecting anyone significantly. I am still doing little bits while on work breaks, so still knocking out some minutes. I’m also getting the itch to write something new. That short story for a now cancelled anthology really woke that short form fiction side in me again. Most of what I’ve been working on for the last year is all novel length pieces, and the thought of a shorter piece feels fun.

The story I’m working through at the moment though is the mech story. This is essentially going to be a last digital edit before I print off a hard copy to red-pen it. I’m feeling quite confident in this one overall. It’s feels like it’s 90% there.

Penal Earth 2 is essentially done as well. I’m not sure what else I can do to make it better. Which tells me it’s beta reader time. All I need to do is go through and make sure I’ve not left any digital sticky notes in it.

War Child I’m going to sit on for a little while and let it settle some more. This is a complicated story which I want to nail, and my gut instinct is to let it breath for a bit.
