Back To Work

I was going to wait till next week to make a start on the fiction stuff again but I’ve kind of got to the point where my head is quite clear and I needed to get back and cracking again. I have not rested quite as much as I would have liked but I think it was time well spent as Its allowed my mind to work. As I’ve mentioned this time last year (2012) I was in quite a dark place and that has kind of been playing on my mind. Choices I made, and were they right? In reflection, yes. Very much so, but I think I needed to remind myself of that time and the effect it has on me. But now it’s not playing on my mind and I NEED to get back into the writing again.

So tonight I’ve began to edit/re-write my NaNoWriMo project from 2011. It’s not by any means a total re-write but I want to add a lot to it as I’m going through on the edit. I’m thinking I’ll add about another 10,000 words to it before its finished. the original draft did finish out at 30,000 words but I cut out about 9,000 words which was just hideously rubbish. Ideally I’ll bring it back up to the 30,000 words mark. THe biggest issue I have with this is I have no idea how I am going to end it at the moment. I have a couple of ideas but nothing that I am especially excited about so I’m hoping an ending will come as I write.

I just want to give another podcast Novel a shout out Public Enemy Zero is a book by Andrew Mayne about A radio DJ called Mitchell Roberts. He’s life is turned upside down and inside out when total strangers and people he knows begin to randomly attack him in the most savage way you could fear and becomes the centre of a manhunt after not having done anything wrong.
The link for Andrew Mayne’s site is below and if you enter the title of the story or the author into iTunes it’ll come up as a free podcast
I really enjoyed this story. It has a different take on the outbreak/zombie stories that most of us know from Hollywood.
