Howdy folks! How are we all doing?

It feels like it’s been a low writing week but I’ve written one way or another three days of this week, and will be doing a bit after I’ve written this post.

I’ve finished the handwritten draft of a Penal Earth short story, so I’ve started typing it up, rewriting bits as I go. I’ve also started another story that has been on my mind for some time now. Hopefully this time I’ve got the elements right and it comes together how I see it.

Movie and TV wise I’ve watched the second season of Arcane:League of Legends and was as impressed with he second season as I was the first and really happy with how it played out. I’ve also watched Blood Vessel, a story set near the end of the WW2 where a group of sailors from the Allies are stranded on a lifeboat but come into the path of a german ship which seems deserted but there’s something more threatening than the Nazis. This was good, but I don’t think the Amazon picture for the film was a good idea, nor the description. It gives away the villain of the piece and as a viewer I’d have liked to have been left in the dark. Another film that did something similar was Bunker 717. This is a film set in the Paris Catacombs, which I find quite fascinating, but again the picture on Amazon gives a big reveal when again, I’d have liked to of tried to figure out what was happening. I think going forward I’ll just hit play on films that I’m not familiar with. Another movie that’s stood out was Follow Me. This is about a streamer who goes to Russia with his team and girlfriend to experience an intense escape room. I’ve gotta admit, I stopped watching this one the other night before they got to the escape room, but I’m glad I went back. Once in the Escape Room things get a little too real.

Two other movies I want to mention are Like Dogs and Pet. Like Dogs is about two people who are kidnapped and held in small concrete cubicles where they are chained and masked individuals deal with them. This was good, but I wasn’t keen on one of the twists in it with one of the captives. Pet, it wasn’t what I expected, which made me happy. The synopsis or picture on Amazon didn’t give anything away, although I’ll admit I didn’t read the description too well. But it’s about a man who kidnaps and holds a woman he was at school with after she rebuffs him. This went in a direction I wasn’t expecting, and that was a pleasant surprise.

I’ve enjoyed exploring movies again recently, I’ve not really sat down and watched anything new for quite a while. So it’s been good doing so.

Right, I need to get some words written. Have an awesome weekend folks!
