Howdy folks, how are we doing today?
I actually slept somewhat well. This week has been a real mix bag when it comes to my sleep patterns, but I also went to bed with a determination to have a productive day. So I wonder how much that helped. It did take me a bit to nod off but I feel like I slept quite well after that.
My main task today is going to be the red penning of Penal Earth 2. I’m aiming for a heavy day on this one, I want to get a solid chunk of pages read through by about midday. I’d love to have a target, even if I wasn’t sharing it here, but its been quite some time since I did a red pen of a novel so I’ve not got an idea of what a realistic goal is.
I also want to do some more beta reading. I’ve committed to getting it done by the end of the month and we’re halfway through already so I need to get my finger out.
Outside of that I’ve got some things I want to work on for mental health that my therapist recommended I try, and I want to dive into the Lord Of The Rings films. I’m feeling the need to marathon them.
Yesterday I went for a walk, only up into the main village as I fancied an energy drink (I’m working hard on cutting down so don’t have any here). So I decided to walk it, which is all uphill which isn’t fun, but on the plus side the return was downhill. It felt good, and it’s true what they say that doing something like going for a walk does help mental health. The trick is getting out of our own heads to actually go for said walk. On the way back down I did stop and sat on a bench with a great view for a little while. It was very peaceful and I wander how much that short walk has affected my mental health as I do feel like I can get a lot done today, we’ll see.
