Howdy folks! How are we doing this morning?

Yesterday I finished the short story I’ve been working on. It came out at 4321 words, well under the 5k target. I’ve gotta say, I’m really happy with this one. I think I need to tweak a couple elements of the fist scene to put it more in line with how the story came out, but I don’t think I need massive changes. It feels like I’ve managed quite a clean first draft, for me anyway!

Obviously I hope it get accepted, but if it doesn’t I’m still quite hyped about it. It’s quite a niche story so I don’t think I’d be able to submit it elsewhere without significant rewrites and I kinda don’t want to do that. I think I’d be more likely to pop it up on Ko-Fi (after the anthology has been out for a while).

Speaking of Ko-Fi, I haven’t posted there for a while and need to figure out the best way to use it. I do feel I’m getting some of my ducks in a row but that’s one that’s properly wandered off!

Getting this shirt story done feels very good. I need to get back to shorter fiction again. I need to do better at finding anthologies to submit to, especially themed ones as I’ve found that can be quite inspiring.
