Good Morning, 19th of January 2026

Howdy folks, how are we all doing this morning?

Me? I ache! I’ve not been that well for a while and went to the doctors last week and have medication, so that’s all good but it’ll take a few days to kick in. Yesterday myself, my brother and dad relaid the pond lining in our garden. It was the only day the three of us all had so we got a good start and had the pond seventy-five percent drained by the time my brother and sister-in-law got there about 10am.

The liner is the original me and my dad put in when we dug the pond over twenty years ago. It had a slow leak so, and a life expectancy of twenty years. So I think we got our money’s worth. We had the new one in, water and fish in it by 12:30pm. We’ve still got more to do. The paving slabs around the edges need relaying but we want it to settle for a couple of days first.

It took it out of me though, and my knee went at one point. So I ache today. On the plus side I did get ninety minutes of editing done in the evening. Which finished this pass of my mech story. Very, very happy with what I’ve got so far, and I can see what I need to do to strengthen the story.

I’ve had a rough spot this month writing. I had maybe ten days where I wasn’t as productive as I could have been. I think part of that was hitting my 20 hours for the month target very early, but more importantly I think it was also because I hit a stumbling block in War Child. Then I went down a path which would have buggered up numerous plot lines further on. I think now I’ve got a handle on it again though.

Right, I’m about to start work. I hope you all have an awesome day!
