Howdy folks! How are we doing today?

I’ve finally finished a draft of War Child. I added just shy of two thousand words to it yesterday and although I’ve got my doubts about a few bits, in particular elements of the ending I’m pretty happy with it overall. There’s a few things I want to change with the story but I think I’ve got a decent book to work with.

I am going to dive straight into an edit of the story before putting it down and jumping back into Penal Earth 2 again. I need to get a better picture of the overall plot before resting it for a while. I’ve also got a tonne of electonic sticky notes on it to clear.

Burdizzo books put out a submissions call for an anthology which got my grey matter sparking and an idea has grown into about 1500 words in the last two days. This is putting Penal Earth 3 on pause (to be fair, I’m only typing up some segments that have come to me. There’s no concentrated story there yet).

We’re half way through the month now and I’m not quite where I want to be (I should already be deep into editing War Child), but I’m about on target for hours worked, maybe a little ahead on that one to be honest. Regardless of how I’m measuring progress I think that progress is still there.
