Good Evening, 4th of August 2026

Howdy folks, how are we all doing tonight? A bit of a random post coming.

July turned out to be a low writing month for me. I only finished reading Penal Earth for the bible today when it who’ll have been done a week ago. Part of that was a heavy work load for my day job, which I’m not complaining about, but writing gets eased back on when I do have a heftier lump of hours at work. I think this month will be the same when it comes to work load so I need to be more proactive in getting writing done. When I say writing I mean it as a cover all for all elements of trying to get a story done. At the moment I’m working on the next draft of the mech story, and will start typing up the Penal Earth Bible soon as well. I am working on a Penal Earth short story as well but I haven’t found it’s vibe yet.

I finally started watching Reacher, and yeah was blown away. I binged it in less than a week. I also watched Transformers One, and yeah it was okay, but I realised its the same as Terminator Dark Fate, not my version of that world. I know lots of people loved Transformers One but it’s just not for me. When I heard they were doing an animated Transformers movie I was half hoping it was going to be like the start of Bumblebee when they were on Cybertron, but hey ho. It is what it is.

I also watched Ready Or Not 2: Here I Come. This was as good as the first one and I really hope we get a third instalment of these films. Now a big shoutout to Masters Of The Universe. This was amazing! Yes it was nostalgic, but in all the right ways. Let’s get a sequel please. It did also have me wanting a live action Thundercats movie though. The Devil’s Mouth was very good as well, nothing ground breaking but a fun watch. The Super Mario Galaxy Movie was fantastic too.

Hoppers was okay, but wasn’t really memorable. Red Sonja was fun, and I’d like to see another one as I liked the world created there. I don’t have any history with the character so it was fun going into it.

I’ve almost finished listening to Mexican Gothic by Silvia Moreno-Garcia, and this one has impressed me a lot. I’ve got a bit to go on it and looking forward to seeing how Moreno-Garcia wraps it up.

I’m going to wrap this here. I really want to get back on track this month. I’ve had a good couple of days, but I need to make that a good week, then fortnight, then month. Lets roll!
