Good morning folks! How are we all today?
Yesterday I edited 3673 words on The North Side, and edited another 6442 and adding 541 words to A new short story called Gods Embrace of Light. This is another tale following Kellan from The North Side in the Penal Earth universe. I’ve just been through my beta readers notes and made those changes and just posted it to my Ko-Fi for any supporters.

After the editing yesterday I did a little gaming, washed cars and a few other bits before finishing off American Primeval and starting GLOW. While watching those I did 2 hours of prep work for the next (and fooking final) draft of Penal Earth 2. As the clock ticks I was working for longer than two hours but I scaled it back to a rough estimate of how much time I was actually working and not looking at the screen. Although this isn’t an ideal way to work I’ve found recently for the work I need to do for writing which isn’t directly writing or editing this can be productive. For example I was expanding the notes I made as I was doing the last edit of Penal Earth 2. This was literally transferring them from a journalists style notebook to an A4 refit pad. I probably scrapped a quarter of those notes. Some of them I had implemented as I’d written and others were made redundant by going in a slightly different direction, or even saved for book 3.

I’m kinda itching to get back into it, but I still want to give it a week or two to let the story settle. In that time I might work on a spin off I’ve been working on. This is a plot line from Penal Earth 2 which got cut but I liked the characters and thought there was still a story I could tell there.

Overall yesterday was a really good day. I got a lot of writing work done, had some chill out time, got mine and my parents car washed. I hoovered theirs out as well. I did a few other little bits and pieces as well. Yesterday was a prime example of what I can do when I put my mind to it.
