Good morning folks, how are we all doing this morning? I hope everyones weekend is going well?

Mine’s not been too bad, but I struggled to get into writing yesterday. I think it was because I wanted to get out in to the garden and get a bike up and running. The main parts of which were changing an inner-tube and adjusting the breaks. Now, considering I have ridden a push bike in maybe ten years, and definitely haven’t change an inner-tube or any other form of maintenance I’m pretty chuffed the memories did come back quickly. I didn’t have to go to YouTube to see how to do these.

Before I got to that though I finished beta reading for another author. I’m pretty darn happy I go that and the Penal Earth 2 red-penning done on target. I’d set the end of May as targets for both and although I was worried with the beta reading whether I’d get it done on time I’m super happy I did.

For anyone interested, here are May’s numbers. I wrote 6005 words, edited 27364, and read 221 A4 pages. This was over approximately 1 day and 1 hour of writing time.

Now for June the numbers are reset and I need to think about this months projects to work on. Penal Earth 2 is shelved till July. I want to give myself a little bit of time away from this one so it can breath. The mech story is likely going to be my primary focus for the month. I need to have this draft done by the end of the month so I can dive into PE2 knowing I’ve got it done. I do have a couple of short stories roaming around my head that I’d like to get 1st drafts done, one of which is a Penal Earth spin off which I’m quite excited by.

The core target is still 20 hours of writing time, although I think I’m averaging about 30 hours a month I’m still not ready to commit to rising the target. Mainly for fear of the moral hit if I don’t make an improved target.
