Howdy folks! How’s y’all’s day been?

281 words on the Penal Earth short story I’m working on. It felt like I’d walked down a dead end with it yesterday but today when I started writing I slid straight into a conversation between two characters that came quite easily.

The last couple of days have been busy, but I should have still got more writing done. I have the time, I just need to do some more work on a few things. First, and most important I think is sleep. I need to get to bed earlier, wind down before getting my head down, and keeping a sleep schedule. Even if that means getting up at silly o’clock on days off.

The next is keeping my focus centred. My brain is that dog chasing cars, I almost catch one and then I see another that I then start chasing. Part of that is reminding myself of what I’m working on before I go to bed, and knowing which project, what stage, and what my goal is for the next project once I’ve completed each one.

If I can start pulling these elements together then I can get more words wrangled.

And yes, I get the irony of me saying all this as it’s like half ten at night. But, I feel like it’s something I can get done now.

Right, let’s wrap this for the night. I’ve got my little one this weekend so I doubt I’ll be writing, but next week is a new week.
