Howdy folks! How are we doing this morning?

I’ve got to say I’m enjoying my later shift starts. Normally I’m starting at 5am but this week it’s all 8am. I get a lay in!

Whilst I was driving to work this morning saw a lot of cars weaving through traffic, trying to find the quickest way I can only assume. I’ve done this, I still do to a degree, but most times when I’m behind the wheel I don’t need to. I like leaving early. Today for instance I left an hour and ten minutes before my shift started. It takes me about twenty to thirty minutes to drive to work depending on traffic. The main reason for my leaving early is I don’t wanna be late. But it also gives me time to write a blog post or do some writing work. Which is what I’m doing now, I’m in my car at the moment but once this is written I’ll mooch into work and do some writing in the canteen.

I don’t like being rushed or pressured. I’m trying quite hard to put myself in a position where these things don’t happen, so when something comes along to cause a problem I’ve got to work out I’m not already stressed out. I’m trying to go against the have to hustle in everything we do mentality. We’re made to feel like we always need to be on the go. For me that’s exhausting mentally.

The world doesn’t spin any faster when we’re running at full steam ahead. I think taking a breath once in a while and enjoying something simple is great for our souls. It’s something I’m definitely trying to improve in my own life.

Back to writing update though. I wrote about 400 words on Lovers yesterday before work. And in the afternoon I worked through 17 pages of Penal Earth 2 in about forty minutes. I’m looking to match that today.
