Hey folks, how are we all doing tonight?

Today I got up nice and early, made a cuppa. Put the dishes away and then got editing. I worked through 9431 words on Black blood, adding 103 in the process.

This pass feels more like an exploratory expedition. I’m reminding myself of the story and world I’m playing in. When I come to the next pass it’ll be a lot deeper and there will be a lot more changes going on. I think the story itself is good, but I need to tweak a few characters and some of the world building. It is feeling good, but a lot of work to do on it.

I cracked on with some garden work, and then got a couple more hours of writing done, typing up a short story I wrote earlier this year. I got 1622 words down of that story. I’ve found a couple of plot holes in it, that I’ve tried to fix but some will need a little more thought to get them right.

I’ve got to be honest with myself, I don’t think I’m going to get much long fiction written this year. Much of what I need to do is get what I’ve already written cleaned up and sent to beta readers and then editors. These aren’t trunk novels. These are novels I’ve written and never done anything with. So many years thinking I’m not a good enough writer, or I didn’t deserve to put my work out there. So much time wasted.

Time to get this work out into the world.
